2b Butlers Wharf was an alternative artists-run space on Shad Thames next to Tower Bridge. Every Saturday night artists would put on a show for their peers and then have a drink. Some very interesting work was shown over a three-year period (from 1975-78), including artists such as Kevin Atherton, Charlie Hooker, David Critchley, Alison Winkle. Now Shad Thames is an exclusive area with penthouses, and restaurants.
